bass makes wierd noice

hey,
as you might have heard in my last cover ( http://www.youtube.com/user/androssie?feature=mhum )
it makes some wierd noice as i hit the strings
i probably know what it is, i think its my string hitting higher fretless when i play it ....

so for example:

i play the A string on the 7th fret
then my bass makes a noice, this is the string hitting the metal of a higher fret (lets say 9)
this only happens when i play frets, so no open strings.
i dont think i hit the strings to hard

any solutions? i have no idea what it is, but i start to hate it -.-

im not sure either but if its the string hitting the frets like you say than i think the neck must be angled back a bit. But im a complete doof when it comes to problems with basses. Im sure Dubhertz will come around in a bit

I agree that in the video it doesnt look like you are fretting the strings too hard. And the action (string height) already looks quite high. Does it only happen on certain frets? What type of bass is it. Is it new, and if so are they the strings that came with it.

I guess it just needs a good setup and maybe a string change.
